Gini Chin is an artist, graphic designer, author (and former snake charmer) in Portland, Oregon. She grew up in Pennsylvania Amish country but never got the hang of squirrel for dinner, the Lutheran church, or the smell of pig farms. She does admit though to loving beef tongue, chicken feet, and other offal.

She received honorable mention in CRAFT’s 2025 Memoir Excerpt & Essay Contest, judged by Roxane Gay. Her first novel, The Beautiful Abyss, has a soon to be released sequel, The Tattooed Monk.

Gini has a degree in graphic design with a minor in French from the University of Oregon. She specializes in book cover design and book trailers.

Long ago, some of the odd jobs she had included; enucleation technician (removed eyeballs from the recently deceased for corneal transplant), wine bar owner in a remote Washington harbor town (a small town with a big drinking problem), and dog walker (poop picker-upper).

When Gini isn’t writing, she enjoys paddle boarding, cooking, making art, and playing the double bass, but most of all her rescue boxer, Minnow.
